About Nelson De Leon

With over thirty years in the mortgage industry, Nelson has experience in all facets of the business. As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Homeowners Financial Group (HFG), Nelson is responsible for managing all aspects of Operations including the workflow of the mortgage lending area, which includes the supervision of Processing, Disclosing, Underwriting, Closing and some administrative personnel. In addition, Nelson is also responsible for overseeing all Secondary Marketing functions including the Lock Desk, hedging/trading activities, loan sales, Post Closing, Product Development and Investor relations.  He also assists in the development of HFG’s business plan, implements training standards for Operations and Secondary Marketing employees, and ensures compliance with all regulatory laws.

Nelson also serves on the Risk Committee reviewing significant financial and other risk exposures, as well as on the Loan Committee responsible for making recommendations for loan approvals or denials or on other loans needing special consideration.

He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Arizona State University, and he has served on the Advisory Boards of Freddie Mac, Computershare (CMC) and Plaza Home Mortgage.
